How do I Export Workspaces from my VI Monitor Plus Client?

There is currently no option for exporting Workspaces through VI Monitor Plus. If you are comfortable working with Windows Registry Keys, you can perform a manual backup of the Workspaces.

WARNING:

Before doing anything, be sure to Backup (export) the Registry Keys for VI Monitor Plus

 

Saving your Workspaces as a Registration Entry (.reg)

  1. Create and save all your workspaces on a VI Monitor Plus client
  2. Close VI Monitor Plus
  3. On the same PC, open the Registry Editor
  4. Open Windows Start menu
    a. Type regedit and press Enter
    b. Locate the folder Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Video Insight\Monitor Station
  5. Right click the Monitor Station folder, click Export, and save the file
  6. Make another copy of this .reg file, just in case (one original, and one to modify)
  7. Locate this .reg file and right click on it
  8. Click Edit
  9. Leave the first line “Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00”
  10. Leave the 3rd line “[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Video Insight\Monitor Station]”
  11. Delete everything else except for last the section… "Workspaces"=hex: …… binary info………
  12. Save your modified .reg file
     

Load Workspaces on a different PC

  1. Copy this modified .reg file to another PC with VI Monitor Plus installed
  2. Double click the .reg file, and say Yes to the prompts
  3. The Workspaces should now be loaded on that VI Monitor client
