You can check the communication environment at the location where you will install your device.
Please carry out this check in the network environment for which you wish to check the communication environment.
(Please check both the network environment where the video is displayed and the network environment where the recorder or camera is installed)
2
After logging in, click the "Settings" button, and then click the "Network" button.
The network test screen will be displayed on the portal screen, and the global IP address of the current environment will be displayed.
3
Click the [Test] button.
The words "Obtaining" will be displayed, and after a while the results of the communication environment check will be displayed next to the [Test] button.
The check results displayed are as follows:
(1)
The environment is suitable for use of the service.

You can connect to devices using the current communication environment.
(2)
Unable to connect

Unable to connect to the device with the current communication environment.
If there is a possibility of a timeout when checking the connection, please set the connection check timeout time at the top of the screen to a longer value and check again.
(3)
The environment is not suitable for use of the service.

Please run the following tool.
Click here to download "checkNatTypeTool.zip" file.
Download and save the above file and extract the file. When extracted, checkNatType.exe is created and run this exe file.
This tool show the result of checking NAT type.

a) If "Blocked":
UDP communication is blocked. Open port numbers 1–65535 and run the tool again to verify.
Additionally, provide documentation specifying the required port numbers to be opened.

b)If "Symmetric NAT":
Consult the router administrator and, if possible, modify the router settings to a NAT type with fewer port restrictions (Full Cone NAT).
Enable the router’s UPnP function (this allows port opening).
Perform port mapping if the NAT type cannot be changed:
Protocol: UDP
Internal IP: The IP address of the device running the Remo. browser, camera, or recorder
Port Range: 1–65535

c) If the above solutions do not work or settings cannot be changed:
Use a portable Wi-Fi device that supports P2P communication, utilize a VPN to operate in an environment with fewer NAT restrictions, or consult the ISP.

Supplementary Information A)
- General Relationship Between WebRTC and UPnP
In WebRTC P2P communication, NAT traversal is performed through the following process:
The ICE (Interactive Connectivity Establishment) process begins.
The STUN server is used to obtain the device’s global IP address and port.
The NAT type is determined, and it is assessed whether P2P communication is possible.
If port restrictions exist, NAT traversal (hole punching) is attempted.
If UPnP is enabled, the router automatically configures the necessary external ports.
WebRTC clients establish direct P2P communication.
When UPnP is enabled, during the WebRTC ICE process, the router receives the WebRTC client’s request and automatically opens the required ports. This increases the likelihood of successfully establishing P2P connections.

Supplementary Information B) Types of NAT
- Full Cone NAT
Allows receiving data from any address, even if it has not been previously sent to.
UPnP-based port mapping generally falls into this category.
- Address-Restricted Cone NAT
Allows receiving data only from addresses to which it has previously sent data (i.e., the destination address exists in the NAT device’s WAN-side entry).
- Port-Restricted Cone NAT
Similar to Address-Restricted Cone NAT but also requires that the sender's port matches the previous outbound request.
- Symmetric NAT
The most restrictive NAT type, distinguishing connections by destination address and port. Each connection uses a unique address translation.
- How Symmetric NAT Works
When an internal device A (192.168.1.2:50000) sends a UDP packet to a STUN server (stun1.example.com:19302), the router assigns a new external port.
Example:

 192.168.1.2:50000 → 203.0.113.5:62000 (Router) → STUN Server

The STUN server responds, "Your external address is 203.0.113.5:62000."
However, when attempting to communicate with another peer (Peer B), the router assigns a different external port.
Example:

192.168.1.2:50000 → 203.0.113.5:63000 (Router) → Peer B

If Peer B sends a message to 203.0.113.5:62000, the NAT does not forward the packet to internal device A because the port was allocated exclusively for the STUN server.
As a result, P2P communication fails.
