At Mt Gambier Prison, i-PRO’s rugged IP-camera upgrade supported expansion for 160 new beds, cut failure rates and maintenance costs thanks to H.265 smart coding and integrated access-control integration.
Challenge/Mission/Solution
Goal:
Security CCTV system major upgrade for Mt Gambier Prison 160 additional beds. Install a future proofed system for prison expansion requirements in the next 5-7 years.
Solution:
Replacing existing cameras or new install cameras which can be integrated into current VMS with integration to access control system. Utilizing the features from Extreme series to make sure the new system has the reliability, visibility, and lower ongoing cost.
Result
i-PRO won two rounds of real-environment camera shoot-outs inside the prison, demonstrating the best low-light performance and highly effective image stabilization.
i-PRO IP cameras also deliver significantly lower ongoing maintenance costs compared to other brands, thanks to their lower failure rate and a 5-year warranty.
Smart Coding support for both H.264 and H.265 reduces storage and bandwidth requirements.
In addition, a special firmware build was developed to support early versions of the FLIR VMS, enabling smooth integration with the existing access-control system.
i-PRO solutions were also selected by other correctional services facilities in South Australia during 2019–2020.
