Problem Description
While running the Active Guard/Multi-AI Server installer, the installer provides you an error with Error Code = -3 Past Database Information Exists.
This happens when there are some registries related to SQL Server 2016 and Multi-AI folders exist even if you have uninstalled SQL Server 2016 from Add & Remote Programs.
Step 1.
Open the registry by searching for Regedit or use the Run program to open regedit.
Step 2.
Navigate to the path:
・HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall
・HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\
Step 3.
There will be several folders. You will need to go through each folder and delete any item that is related to Multi-AI, Active Guard, SQL Server 2016.
Step 4.
Once this is done, the setup will run properly and continue with the server install.
