Precautions for Using i-PRO Products Online
When i-PRO products are connected to the Internet, the following security risks may arise:
- Leakage of information through the products
- Unauthorized operation by malicious third parties
- Interference with or suspension of product functionality by malicious third parties
To mitigate these risks, please implement comprehensive network security measures under your responsibility, including but not limited to the following:
- ・Enable user authentication for logging in to i-PRO products to prevent exposure of image data, authentication credentials (usernames, passwords), alarm email settings, FTP server information, DDNS server information, and other sensitive data.
- ・Regularly update product firmware to ensure the latest security enhancements are applied.
- ・Operate within a secure network environment protected by a firewall or equivalent security measures on devices such as routers.
- ・Perform routine checks for malware and viruses on any connected PCs and remove threats promptly.
- ・Avoid password reuse for i-PRO products/services and administrator accounts. Change passwords periodically and manage authentication credentials to prevent unauthorized access.
- ・Close all browser windows after administrative access to the product.
Please note: While i-PRO provides firmware updates to address security vulnerabilities, updates are generally not available for products whose support period has expired. We strongly recommend replacing any products that have exceeded their support period with current-generation models at the earliest opportunity. Maintaining the use of products that support the latest firmware is essential for ensuring security.
