i-PRO Becomes First in Video Security Industry to Earn ISO/IEC 42001 Certification for AI Management Systems

Tokyo, Japan – May 28th, 2025– i-PRO Co., Ltd.(formerly Panasonic Security), a leading global manufacturer of edge computing cameras for security and public safety, has been awarded the ISO/IEC 42001 certification, becoming the first company in the global video security industry and one of the first organization in Japan to achieve this newly established international standard for artificial intelligence (AI) management systems. The certification was officially presented during a ceremony held at i-PRO’s headquarters in Minato-ku, Tokyo. With this certification, i-PRO not only strengthens its position as a technology leader but also sets a new industry standard in ethical AI deployment.
The certificate was handed to i-PRO CEO Masato Nakao by Masaki Urushihara, Managing Director, BSI Group Japan K.K., the Japanese subsidiary of the British Standards Institution (BSI).
Masato Nakao, CEO of i-PRO, stated: “We are very pleased and grateful to announce that we have obtained ISO 42001 certification. Most i-PRO cameras are equipped with AI, and it is expected that they will soon transcend the role of security cameras to serve as AI agents.
