Scenario: This page explains how to integrate VaxALPR with i-PRO Active Guard to identify and manage vehicle events through detection of license plates and attributes such as make, model, and color. By following this guide, users will be able to:

1. Installation of VaxALPR
2. Installation of i-PRO Active Guard
3. Watchlist configuration
4. Monitoring and searching watchlist events
5. Search for license plates by plate number, MMC, etc

The integration enables the identification of three types of events:

• Registered License Plate Detection: Identifies vehicles with license plates that are registered in the system’s watchlist.
• Unregistered License Plate Detection: Identifies vehicles with license plates that are not registered in the system’s watchlist.
• Registered Advanced Vehicle Detection: Identifies vehicles with specific attributes set in the watchlist (e.g., make, model, and color).

When these events occur, users can execute actions, monitor, and search watchlist events.

<Installation of VaxALPR>

1. Download of VaxALPR

Download the application from the Download Center. To download, an account is required.

Note:

The combination requirements for the camera firmware version and VaxALPR version.

Select the camera browser settings screen - [Ext. software] - [Software mng].
If there is insufficient free space, click the "Uninstall" button to uninstall installed applications.
For CV25m cameras, check the "RAM capacity expansion mode" and click the "Set" button.
Check the "Install new Ext. software", click the "Choose File", select the downloaded application, and then click the "Execute".

 

3. VaxALPR setting

Refer to the manual  to perform the setting.

To integrate with i-PRO Active Guard, ONVIF configuration is required.

Note:
Select [Ext. software] - [Vaxtor LPR MMC].
Choose [Reports] - [ONVIF].
Check "Active", and select "i-PRO Active Guard" for "Destination".

 

When using "Registered Advanced Vehicle Detection," select [Setting] - [LPR Configuration] and check the "Enable Extended Analytics" option.

<Watchlist configuration>

1. Creating a Watch List

Select [Security Desk] - [Task] - [i-PRO Active Guard Search].

 

Select "Setup watchlists".

 

Choose [LPR].
Click "Manage license plate" in the top right corner.

 

Click "Manage groups".

 

Enter the group name and click "Add" button.
Click "Save group" button, then click "×" button in the top right corner to close.

 

Click "New license plate".

 

Enter the license plate, select the group and country, then click "Save" button.
Click "×" button in the top right corner to close.

 

Click "×" button in the top right corner to close.

 

Click "Create New watchlists".
Disable "Detect by vehicle appearance only".
In the group section, select the group you created earlier.
Under Trigger, choose "When license plate in the selected group is detected".
Click "Save watchlist", then click "×" button in the top right corner to close.

Note: If you want to "detect license plates that are not registered", select "When other license plate which is not in the selected group is detected" under Trigger.
 

 

When using "Registered Advanced Vehicle Detection," enable "Detect by vehicle appearance only" and select conditions such as "Vehicle type", "Vehicle color", and "Vehicle brand".

 

2.Action setting
Select [Config Tool] - [System] - [General settings] - [Actions].
Click “+” button.

 

In the "When" field, select the target event based on the trigger you chose when creating the watchlist.
Choose the action you want to perform when the event occurs in Action; for example, select "Play sound".
Click "Save" button.

＜Monitoring and searching watchlist events＞

1. Monitoring watchlist events
Select [Security Desk] - [Tasks] - [Monitoring].
Click "Monitoring" in the bottom left menu. Click "+" button to add the target camera.
When a registered license plate is detected, it will display "Registered License Plate Detection (i-PRO)" and the camera feed will be shown.

Note: If you created a watchlist with "When other license plate which is not in the selected group was detected", it will display "Unregistered License Plate Detection (i-PRO)".

2. Searching watchlist events
Select [Security Desk] - [Tasks] - [i-PRO Active Guard Event].
Select conditions such as "Entities", "Event", "Time range", and click "Generate report" to display the reports. In LPR, filtering is possible using the created watchlists. A list of events that match the conditions will be displayed.

 

＜Search for license plates by plate number, MMC, etc＞

 1. Select [Security Desk] - [Tasks] - [i-PRO Active Guard Search].

 

2. Select the date, camera, and LPR filter options, then click Search.

 

The filter options are as follows

Features and controls	Description
License plate	Secify a License plate number. Note:  Use '%' for wild card search (Example : for plates starting with 'A', enter 'A%'
Country	Specify the country or ADR
State *1	Specify the state
Moving Direction	Towards/in, Away/out, Stopped
Type	Car, Van, Mini-Van, SUV, Truck, Bus, Pickup Truch, Motercycle
Color	Black, Gray, White, Beige, Brown, Orange, Golden, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple, Red
Brand	Specify the brand
Model *2	Specify the model
Additonal filters	Color image only Note: Black & white images may show in the search results even if only Color image only is specified.

*1 : State is displayed when Country is set to "United States" or "Australia"
*2 : Model is displayed after setting Brand.

 

3. The search results matching the criteria will be displayed in a list.

 

4. You can play it by clicking on the thumbnail.

 

5. Change the thumbnail display option to "Show only license plate" (Optional)

As an option, it is possible to display only the license plate as a thumbnail.
Click the gear icon in the top right corner and select "Preferences".

 

Choose "Show only license plate" and click "Save."

 

The search results will display thumbnails showing only the license plates.
