Why is VMD Information Addition enabled when I restart the VI service?

  • Video Insight VMS
  • Specification

Older i-PRO cameras like the WV-NW502 or WV-SF, WV-SFV, WV-NP are known as the “Blue” Firmware cameras (the camera’s web interface is blue rather than black or white). When Video Insight’s IP service is restarted, VI automatically pushes out a command to enable VMD Information Addition. Usually, VMD Information Addition is disabled by default.

If this is an issue, then use VI’s Server-side Motion Detection to prevent VMD Information Addition from enabling.

Otherwise, this is as designed. Using VI’s Camera Side Motion Detection will automatically enable VMD Information Addition. This is required for older cameras to perform motion detection events and recordings on VI.
