What is the procedure for a clean reinstall of VI Monitor Plus?

VI Monitor Plus is not behaving as expected on one or more workstations. Some examples; live images are not displaying appropriately during ‘pop out’ from a workspace, or live feeds are randomly freezing.

Instances where VI Monitor Plus is experiencing an issue, it’s recommended to perform a clean reinstallation of the software.

If workspaces are not desired or none exist, skip to ‘Clean Removal of VI Monitor Plus’.

Clean removal of VI Monitor Plus

  1. Navigate to Windows [Control Panel] → [Add / Remove Programs]
  2. Uninstall VI Monitor Plus from the list
  3. Open Windows / File Explorer
  4. Navigate to path: C:\Users\yourusernamehere\AppData\Roaming.
  5. Delete ‘VIMonitorPlus’ folder
  6. Open Regedit ([Start] → [Run] → Type ‘regedit’)
  7. Navigate to Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Video Insight\
  8. Delete ‘VIMonitorPlus’ and “MonitorStation’ keys
  9. Navigate to Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE
  10. Delete ‘Video Insight’ key
     

VI Monitor Plus can now be installed from its installation package.

Restore Workspaces if necessary. Refer to the previously mentioned KB for instructions.
