 Tailgating Detection by AI-VMD Cross Line

 Scenario
With AI-VMD version 3.80 or later, AI-VMD Cross Line supports tailgating detection.
This page explains how to configure Milestone XProtect to receive AI-VMD Cross Line events and notify alarms for tailgating.

1. Camera Settings

1. Open the camera settings screen and go to [-Ext. software] > [AI-VMD].
2. Go to [2. AI motion detection setting].
3. Select [Cross line] in the [Detection mode] setting.
    Draw the cross line boundary.
    Click [Set].

 

4. Go to [4. Detailed setting].
5. Select the desired time in [Tailgating detection time] setting.
    Click [Set].

 

2. Milestone Settings

Configure events and alarms in the Management Client to receive alarms.

2.1 Event Settings

1. Open [Management Client].
2. Go to  [Servers] > [Recording Servers].
3. Select the target camera device and click the [Events] tab.
4. Click [Add...].

 

5. Select [CrossLine Human], and click [OK].

 

6. Enter the Detection area ID added from step 3 of Section 1 into the [Motion Window] of the event. If the Detection area ID is 1, set 1 in the Motion Window.

 

7. Click the [Save] icon at the top left of the screen.

 

2.2 Create Alarm

1. Go to [Alarm] > [Alarm Definitions] in the [Site Navigation] area.
2. Then right click [Alarm Definitions] in the [Alarm Definitions] area and select [Add New...].

 

3. Set the following settings. [Name] setting is shown in the [Alarm] column of the [Alarm Manager] tab in the [XProtect Smart Client].

Enable:Check the checkbox
Name:Tailgating
Triggering event(The first drop-down):Device Events
Triggering event(The second drop-down):CrossLine Human
Sources:Select the target camera

 

4. Click the [Save] icon at the top left of the screen.

 

2.3 Alarm List Configuration 

1. Go to [Alarms] > [Alarm Data Settings] > [Alarm List Configuration].
2. Add [Alarm] to [Selected columns].

 

3. Click the [Save] icon at the top left of the screen.

 

3. How It Works

1. Open [Smart Client] and go to [Alarm Manager].
2. Right-click the column header in the list, and check [Alarm].

 

3. When an AI-VMD Cross Line event occurs, a notification for tailgating appears in the [Alarm Manager].
