Role Settings

Scenario:i-PRO Maximizer version 1.2.0 or later supports Role Setting in Milestone XProtect. This feature allows you to configure the display of i-PRO Maximizer actions on the Smart Client per user. This page explains how to configure Role Setting using the Management Client.

1. Configuration in Management Client

1.1 Check Action Settings

1. Open the Management Client and select [Rules and Events] > [i-PRO Extended Actions].
2. Ensure that the action you want to assign a role to is set to [Enable].
    For more details, refer to the Camera Control page.

   Note: If a custom command is added, restart the Management Client before proceeding to the next step. After restarting, the custom command will be reflected in the Role Settings.

 

1.2 Role Settings

1. Select [Security] > [Roles].
2. In the [Roles] tab, select the target user.
3. In the [Role Settings] tab, select [Overall Security].
4. Select [i-PRO Extended Actions].
5. Check the [Allow] checkbox for each action you want to display.

 

2. Confirmation in Smart Client

1. Restart the Smart Client. The Role Settings will take effect after the restart.
2. Log in with a user account configured in Role Settings.
3. Click the i-PRO icon in the bottom-right menu of the View screen. Actions set to [Allow] in the Role Settings configured in the Management Client will be displayed.
