Scenario:
This page outlines the procedures for configuring and operating i-PRO Security Radar using the Genetec RSA Surveillance Plugin.

Genetec RSA Surveillance Plugin's functionalities:

  • Detects intrusions into designated areas and displays target icons and tracking paths on the map.
  • Triggers events and alarms upon target detection.
  • Tracks and monitors target movement within RSA zones.

1. Preparation　

Before starting to use Security Radar, map configuration and coordinate (latitude and longitude) settings are required.
For detailed procedures, please refer to the Security Radar guide.

2. Radar Settings

This section explains the procedure for configuring Radar Detection on the Security Radar.

2.1 Radar Detection Settings

1. Open the Security Radar settings screen and select [Radar] > [Radar detection] > [To detection settings].

2. Specify the area on the map, configure [Detection object] and [Detection mode], and then click [Set].

 

2.2 Detailed Settings

1. Click [② Detailed setting]  configure the required settings.
2. After completing the settings, click [Set].


2.3 Time Synchronization

1. Click [Setup] > [Basic].
2. Under [Time & date] > [Date/time], check [Set PC time to the camera].
3. Click [Set].

 

3. Genetec Security Center Settings

3.1 Adding i-PRO Driver to RSA

3.2 Security Radar Registration

　Refer to Security Radar Registration and Alarm Configuration  for details.

3.3 Creating a Georeferenced Map

　Refer to Georeferenced Map Configuration Guide for details.

3.4 Creating an RSA Zone

　Refer to RSA Zone Creation Guide for details.

Note:
To view targets detected on the map using footage from nearby cameras, add the relevant cameras when creating the RSA zone.
Cameras can be added as follows.
1. On the Cameras page, click Add camera(+).
   The Select cameras dialog box opens.
2. Select the cameras that have the RSA zone in their field of view (FoV) and click OK.


Note:
To enable target tracking, set the [Auto-tracking] option to [ON].


 

In that case, ensure [Do Not Link PTZ Cameras] is set in the Security Radar's configuration.

 

3.5 Defining RSA Zones

3.6 Adding Objects to the Map

　Refer to Object Addition Guide for details. 

Note:
Adding Security Radar to your maps.
1. Click [Config Tool] > [Tasks] > [Map designer].


2. Select a [Recent maps] or click [Browse all maps] to open an existing map.
The selected map fills the Map designer workspace.


3. In the toolbar, click [Area view], select the Security Radar you want to add, and drag it to where you want it to be on the map.

 

Note:
As for [Latitude] and [Longitude], ensure that exactly the same values up to 6 decimal places are configured between Security Radar settings and Genetec RSA settings.
To avoid mismatches, copy the value in Security Radar settings and paste it into Genetec RSA settings.

Configure Genetec settings to match the Security Radar.

 

Note:
To adjust the height and angle of PTZ cameras and similar devices, use the [Field of View] setting of the corresponding camera displayed on the Genetec map. 

 

4. How It Works

4.1 Verification Via Maps

1. Open [Security Desk] > [Tasks] > [Maps].
2. In the Maps task, select the relevant map.
3. Right-click the RSA zone and set the status to [Armed].

 

RSA Target Tracking:
When an intrusion is detected, a target icon and tracking path are displayed on the map.
Target Types (Icons): Person, Vehicle, Unknown.

Clicking a target icon displays video from the camera closest to the target among the cameras associated during [3.4 Creating an RSA Zone].
