Scenario:
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for registering an i-PRO camera with Genetec Security Center SaaS. It is structured around the following five main sections.

1. Preparation: Prepare the required software and the setup requirements.
2. Camera Settings: Perform the initial setup to prepare the camera for registration.
    2.1 NTP Settings (Optional)
    2.2 Uninstall Other Apps Except AI-VMD
    2.3 Update Camera Firmware
    2.4 Install the D2C for Genetec Security Center SaaS 
    2.5 Enable Security Center SaaS Enrollment
3. Camera Registration: Register the camera with the Security Center SaaS.

Before registering cameras with Security Center SaaS, complete the initial setup process. 
This includes creating your SaaS account, configuring system settings, and ensuring network connectivity as described in the Setup overview for Security Center SaaS.


 

1. Preparation

Prepare the required software and configuration prerequisites.

Items to prepare:

  • Camera firmware version v3.65 or later
  • Extension software
  • Please see D2C for Genetec Security Center SaaS for the following:
    • Extension Software
    • Version Compatibility
    • Compatible Model List
  • Internet connection to the camera

Ensure that the restrictions and requirements for D2C for Genetec Security Center SaaS are met.

  • Uninstall all apps except AI-VMD and D2C  for Genetec Security Center SaaS.
  • Recorded data on the SD cannot be transferred to the cloud. However, the camera can record JPEG images to the SD card.
    Therefore, the SD card recording format must be set to Off, JPEG(1), or JPEG(2) (default: JPEG(2)).
  • Do not change streaming settings (framerate, resolution, H.265) on the camera browser when connected to the cloud.
  • A maximum of 5 camera browser sessions is supported while connected to the cloud.
  • Set ONVIF to ON ([Setup] > [Network] > [ONVIF])    (Same as Default)

 

2. Camera Settings

Perform the initial setup to prepare the camera for registration.
This section explains how to use the i-PRO Configuration Tool (iCT) to configure multiple cameras simultaneously.
Download and install iCT from the following page.

2.1 NTP Settings (Optional)

To prevent time differences between the camera and Security Center SaaS, configuring NTP settings is recommended.

1. Start iCT and select [Professional Mode].
2. Select [Configure Cameras].


3. Select the target camera.
4. Go to [Basic] > [Basic].
5. Select [Synchronization with NTP server] in [Time Adjustment].
6. Select [Manual] in [NTP Server Address Setting].
7. Enter [NTP Server Address].

Note:
Configure the port settings according to your environment.
Set the time zone to match the Security Center SaaS instance where the cameras will be registered.
If you select the checkbox next to the setting item and click "Copy the checked setting value to the Device List.", the setting values will be retained when you select other cameras.
 

 

8. Click [Start].

 

2.2 Uninstall Other Apps Except AI-VMD

1. Select [Ext. Software Management] > [Remove App./Reg.Key].
2. Select the target camera and choose [Remove i-PRO applications].
    Select AI application except AI-VMD.
    Note:
    Repeat steps 3 to 6 to remove each AI application except AI-VMD.
3. Click [Next].

 

4. When the confirmation message appears, click [Yes].
The app uninstallation will begin.
5. After the app uninstallation is complete, click [Completed].


2.3 Update Camera Firmware

Update camera firmware to version 3.65 or later.
If the firmware version is older than v3.50, a 2-step update is required. 

1. Select the target camera.
2. Click [Download].

 

3. The firmware download will begin.
After the firmware download is complete, click [Start].

 

4. Click [Start].

 

5. The firmware update will begin.
After the firmware update is complete, click [Completed].

 

2.4 Install the D2C for Genetec Security Center SaaS

1. Select [Ext. Software Management] > [App. Installation/Update].
2. Select the target camera.
3. Select [Download].
4. Click [Confirm].

 

5. Click [Start].

 

6. Select [Installation].
In the [Extension software] field, select [D2C for Genetec Security Center SaaS].
Click [Confirm].

 

7. Click [Start].

 

8. The installation will begin.
After the installation is complete, click [Completed].

 

2.5 Enable Security Center SaaS Enrollment

1. Go to [Setup] > [Ext. software] > [D2C for Genetec Security Center SaaS].
2. Select [Enable], and click [Set].
The Enrollment status will appear as [Accessing server].

 

3. Camera Registration 

Register the camera with the Security Center SaaS.

1. Click [Go to Security Center SaaS].
・Link to the [Genetec Security Center SaaS website]
・Signing in is required, and you need to create an account in advance

 

2. Click [Genetec Configuration].

 

3. Click [+ Add device].

 

 4. In Step 1 [Type], select [Camera].

 

5. In Step 2 [Method], select [Direct-to-cloud].

 

6. Select [i-PRO].

 

7. In Step 3 [Activation], copy and paste [Serial number] and [Secret key]. 
Click the [Copy] button to copy the serial number and secret key to the clipboard.
Click [Continue].

 

8. In Step 4 [Configuration], enter [Name] and select [Recording profile].
Click [Continue].

 

9. In Step 5 [Summary], click [Close].

 

10. After registration, verify that the Enrollment status is [Connected to server.].
Note:
Registration may take some time.

 

11. Click [Tiles].

 

12. The live video from the camera is displayed in [Tiles].

4. Time Zone Settings

To prevent time differences between the camera and Security Center SaaS, ensure that both systems use the same time zone.

Camera:
Ensure that the camera time zone configured in Section 2.1 matches the Security Center SaaS time zone.

Security Center SaaS:
Go to [Configuration] > [Devices], and then click the target camera.

 

5. Re-registration

To re-register a camera with Security Center SaaS, uninstall and reinstall the D2C for Genetec Security Center SaaS. After uninstalling the D2C for Genetec Security Center SaaS, perform  the procedure in Section 2.4 and the subsequent steps again.

5.1 Uninstall the D2C for Genetec Security Center SaaS

1. Start iCT and select [Professional Mode].
2. Select [Ext. Software Management] > [Remove App./Reg.Key].
3. Select the target camera and choose [Remove i-PRO applications].
4. Select [D2C for Genetec Security Center SaaS].
5. Click [Next].

 

6. When the confirmation message appears, click [Yes].
7. The app uninstallation will begin.
After the app uninstallation is complete, click [Completed].

5.2 Camera Registration

Perform Section 2.4  and the following steps again.
