Controlling PTZ Cameras with Security Center SaaS

Scenario:
This guide describes how to control PTZ cameras registered with Genetec Security Center SaaS.
PTZ cameras can be monitored and controlled using the [Monitoring] task in Genetec™ Operation Desktop or Genetec™ Operation Web.
Limitations:
Registering a Preset is only available through the Genetec™ Operation Desktop.
In Genetec™ Operation Web, only zoom operations and preset selection are supported.
360-degree fisheye cameras do not support PTZ functionality.
PTZ Control Function Support Status:
The operation procedures differ between the Genetec™ Operation Web and the Genetec™ Operation Desktop.
If you are using the Genetec™ Operation Desktop, please download it beforehand.
Note:
Please click [Desktop] at the bottom of the Security Center SaaS screen to download the Genetec™ Operation Desktop.
Depending on the features you want to use, please refer to the procedures for either Genetec™ Operation Web or Genetec™ Operation Desktop.

1.1.1 View the PTZ Camera Video
1. Open Genetec™ Operation Desktop.
2. Open the [Monitoring] task.
3. Drag the PTZ camera from the area view to a tile.
1.1.2 Zoom Control Methods
1.1.2.1 Using the Zoom Buttons
To zoom in or out, click the + or - icons in the widget.
The zoom speed can be adjusted using the PTZ speed slider next to the zoom controls.
1.1.2.2 Using the On-Screen Slider
Move the mouse pointer over the tile (live view), then move the blue zoom slider up to zoom in or down to zoom out.
1.1.2.3 Using the Mouse Wheel
Move the mouse pointer over the tile (live view), then use the mouse wheel to zoom in or out.
1.1.3 Click and Centering
Click on the live view.
The camera moves so that the clicked point becomes the center of the image.

1.1.4.1 Registering a PTZ Preset
1. Click [Switch to detailed mode].
2. Select a preset from the preset list in [Presets].
3. Click [Move to PTZ preset], then click [Save].
4. In the [Save Preset] dialog box, enter a preset name and click [Save].
1.1.4.2 Selecting a Preset
Registering presets requires configuration through the Genetec™ Operation Desktop.
1. Select a preset number in the PTZ widget to move the camera to the preset position.
2. To select a different preset that is not displayed, click [Switch to detailed mode].
3. Select the desired preset from the preset list, then click [Move to PTZ preset].

1.2.1 View the PTZ Camera Video
1. Open Genetec™ Operation Web.
2. Open the [Tiles] on Operation screen.
3. Select the PTZ camera and drag it from the area view to a tile.
1.2.2 Zoom Control Methods
1.2.2.1 Using the Zoom Buttons
1. Click the [PTZ mode] icon in the lower-right corner of the screen.
2. Zoom in or out by clicking the +(Zoom in)/-(Zoom out) icons.

Hover over the live view tile and use the mouse wheel to zoom.
1.2.3 Selecting a Preset
Registering presets requires configuration through the Genetec™ Operation Desktop.
1. Click [Preset mode].
2. Select a preset number to move the camera to the preset position.
3. To select a different preset that is not displayed, click [Switch mode].
4. Click [Advanced].
5. Select the desired preset from the preset list, then click [Run preset].
