Auxiliary Archiver

Normally, only one recording stream can be used per camera. However, by utilizing the auxiliary archiver function and setting Stream 2 to "Remote," it is possible to record an additional video stream separate from the regular recording.

An Enterprise Base License is required to use this feature.
Refer to the About the Auxiliary Archiver roles section in the Security Center Administrator Guide 5.13 for detailed information.
 

Scenario: This page explains the procedure for configuring Stream 2 as "Remote" using the auxiliary archiver function and recording the video.

Stream 1 (H.265/HEVC-1) → Standard recording
Stream 2 (H.265/HEVC-2) → Remote recording using the Auxiliary Archiver function

1-1. Creating an Auxiliary Archiver Role

1. Open Config Tool and select the [System] tab.
2. Select [Roles].
3. Click [Add an Entity] and select [Auxiliary Archiver].


4. In the role creation screen, modify the [Database Server] and [Database] settings if necessary, then click [Next].
5. Modify [Entity Name] and [Entity Details] if necessary, then click [Next].
6. Review the settings, and if there are no issues, click [Create].
7. Click [Close].

1. Select [Auxiliary Archiver].
2. Under [Camera Recording], select the video stream to be recorded. In this scenario, select "Remote" as the recording stream.

 

3. Select [Cameras] and click [Add Item] at the bottom left of the screen.
4. Select the target camera and click [OK].

1. Open the [Video] tab and select the target camera.
2. In the [Video] settings, select Stream 1 (H.265/HEVC-1).
 Set all streams except Remote to ON.

 

3. Select [Stream 2 (H.265/HEVC-2)].
 Set Remote to ON.
 *Since "Video Stream" was set to "Remote" in step 1-2, enabling "Remote" for Stream 2 allows Stream 2 to be recorded.

 

2. Verification Procedure

1. Open the [Monitoring] tab in Security Desk and display the target camera's video.
2. Click [Stream Display] to check the selected stream's information.

If a stream other than Remote is selected, Stream 1 (H.265/HEVC-1) will be displayed.
If Remote is selected, Stream 2 (H.265/HEVC-2) will be displayed.
