 How to Use Zoom and Preset Position Features of High-Zoom Bullet Cameras in Genetec Security Center

Scenario: Unlike standard fixed cameras, High-Zoom Bullet Cameras support zoom and preset position features. This guide explains how to configure these features in Config Tool and operate them in Security Desk:

1. Configuration in Config Tool  

1-1. Registering the Camera

Register the camera in the Config Tool.
The preset positions registered in the camera are automatically imported into Security Center.
Select the target camera in the Config Tool.
Confirm that "PTZ" is turned on in the Hardware tab.
If you do not want to allow zoom and preset position features from Security Desk, just like a standard fixed camera, turn off "PTZ."

 

2. Operations on Security Desk

You can use the zoom and preset position features on Security Desk.

2-1. Using the Zoom Feature

The zoom function can be controlled using the PTZ panel or the mouse scroll wheel.

 

2-2. Executing the Preset Feature

You can recall preset positions from the PTZ panel.
To execute a registered preset position, click the desired number using the quick access buttons.

 

2-3. Adding a Preset Position

You can add preset positions from Security Desk.
Click the "Advanced Mode" icon.

 

Move the camera to the desired position using the zoom controls.
Select the desired number from the Presets menu.
Click "Save" from the drop-down menu on the right.

 

When you click "Save," the following screen appears.
Enter a name and click "Save."
