Edge Recording

Scenario:
Edge recording retrieves video data stored on a camera’s SD memory card and saves it to a dedicated [Edge] channel. This page explains how to configure Edge recording with Luxriot EVO.

1. Camera Settings
This section describes the procedures for SD memory card recording on the camera.
1. Go to [Setup] > [Basic] > [SD memory card].
2. Set [SD memory card] to [Use] in the [Operating mode].
3. Set [Overwrite] in the [On].
4. Set [Recording format] in the [Recording stream].
5. Set [Save trigger] to [Schedule] and click [Set].
6. Select [Schedule] from [Setup].
7. Set [Schedule mode] to [Recording to SD] in the [Schedule 1 (White)].
8. Set [Time range] as appropriate in the [Schedule 1 (White)] and click [Set].
9. Check the [SD REC] icon in the upper right of the screen is red in [Live].
2. Luxriot Settings
1. Open the Luxriot EVO Management Console and go to [Configuration] > [Channels].
2. Select your target camera and click [Edit].
3. Click [Change...] in [Edge recording configuration].
4. Select [Continuous recording] and click [OK].
5. Click [OK].
3. How It Works
1. Open Luxriot EVO Monitor and go to [Playback].
2. Select [Edge] Channel of your target camera.
3. Normal recording is registered as the Primary channel, while Edge recording is registered separately as the Edge channel.
Edge channel timeline information remains valid for the entire period, including any disconnection between the camera and Luxriot EVO. Recording data during the disconnected period can be played back in Luxriot EVO.
On the other hand, Primary channel timeline information is not updated. Therefore, playback of recording data for the disconnected period is not available on the Primary channel.
