3.Basic Settings

The basic setting procedure is as follows.
You can continue to configure the remaining settings using the AI-VMD/AI People Counting application.

3.1AI Free Text Detection Settings screen

Register the conditions to be detected by AI Free Text Detection.
For each detection condition, you can set the detection type, analysis target, detection conditions, and detection threshold. Up to five detection conditions can be set.

Displays the camera image.

Click [Execute] to display the demo screen.

3.2Registation of Detection Conditions

Registration of detection conditions, common detection condition settings
You can switch between the [Registration of Detection Condition] screen and the [Common Detection Condition Settings] screen by selecting the tab. For details about [Common Detection Condition Settings], see the following page.

Detection Condition Number
You can register new detection conditions by clicking [+ Create New]. Up to five detection conditions can be registered. To view or edit a registered detection condition, click [Detection Condition X] to open the settings screen.

The message IDs (decimal) for TCP alarm notifications are: Detection Condition 1: “138,” Detection Condition 2: “139,” Detection Condition 3: “140,” Detection Condition 4: “141,” and Detection Condition 5: “142.” When registering names associated with these message IDs in systems such as a recorder, you must ensure that the detection condition numbers match for each detection type across multiple cameras.

Detection type
Select the detection type.
If you select “Fall Detection” or “Fight Detection,” you do not need to configure the “Analysis Target” or “Detection Conditions” settings that follow.

Free Text Detection

Set the detection conditions in text.

Fall detection

Detects when a person falls.

Fight detection

-

Detects people fighting.

If you select [Fight Detection], you can improve detection accuracy by configuring the following settings:
- Do not set any detection conditions other than [Fight Detection].
- Turn off [Add features to thumbnails].

Analysis Target
Select the object to be analyzed.
To perform detection using the entire field of view or a specified area, select [Specified Area]. When you select [Specified Area], click [To Specified Area Settings>>] to go to the specified area settings screen.For an explanation of the specified area setting screen, please refer to the following page.

Detection Conditions
Set detection conditions using alphanumeric characters only, up to 128 characters.You can choose from two options:

Detects when the analysis target is close to the entered text.

to not include:

Use when you want to register a state that should not be detected.

- If you are unsure what type of text is supported, please see the text guidelines by clicking [Display the text guidelines].

- If an inappropriate keyword is entered, the setting cannot be registered.

Detection Threshold
Sets the detection threshold. The smaller the value, the easier it is to detect, but the more likely it is to make a false detection.

※1　If the detection frame does not turn red (indicating an alarm notification), changing the “Duration“ setting from 5 seconds to 2–3 seconds may make the alarm notifications more stable.

※2　To prevent bears from being mistakenly detected as people, you need to set the “Human identification threshold“ to 90 or higher.

Advanced settings
Click to display settings intended for advanced users of this product.

Detection Conditions (to exclude)
Enter any conditions you do not want detected.

- If you select [to not include] in [Detection Condition], you cannot enter anything.

Duration
This setting is only displayed when [Specified area] is selected for [Analysis Target]. This setting allows you to select the amount of time from when the selected object is detected until an alarm notification is issued.

Click the [Set] button to save the currently displayed detection conditions.

3.3Specified Area Settings

Set the specified area.You can set up to eight areas.If the detection conditions are met within any specified area, an alarm will be triggered.

You can set the detection area by drawing it on this screen.
To draw, select the (b) [Specified Area (Rectangle)] icon in [Specified Area Settings] and drag on the [Camera Image Screen] to draw the area.

Specified Area (Rectangle)

Draw the specified area as a rectangle.

Designated Area (selection)

Select the specified area you drew.

Clear

Clear the selected area.

All clear

Clears all selected areas you have drawn.

A check mark will appear in the designated area that has been drawn.

Click to save the drawing and settings for the currently displayed specified area.

Returns to the [Registration of Detection Conditions] screen.

(f) If you erase the check mark displayed in the Specified area and press the setting button, the Specified area will be erased.

3.4Common Detection Condition Settings

Configure the settings common to all detection conditions registered on the [Registration of Detection Conditions] tab.

Person Crop Section Setting
Set the cutout range for thumbnails. When the analysis target is a person, setting a cutout range may result in more accurate detection. You can select from the following five cutout ranges.

Whole : Crops out the entire person.

Top Half : Crops out the top half of the person.

Bottom Half : Crops out the bottom half of the person.

Top only : Only the top of the person will be cropped.

Bottom Only : Only the bottom part of the person will be cropped.

Crop Margin Settings
Use Crop Margin Settings to set the margin for cropping the thumbnail.You can choose from the following four types of margins.

None : No margins are added.

Expand Vertically : Adds space to the top and bottom.

Expand Horizontally : Adds margins to the left and right.

Expand Fully : Adds margins to the top, bottom, left, and right.

Default Settings：None

Thumbnail Transmission
Select whether to send thumbnails and feature values of detected objects for i-PRO Active Guard. You can select the objects to send from the following five types.

Human

Vehicle

Bicycle

Other Moving Objects

Specified area

Default Settings：Human/Vehicle/Bicycle

Add feature data to the thumbnail
Configures whether to add feature data for free‑text search in the Multi‑AI software.

Default Settings：On

Duration until Thumbnail (seconds)
Set the period until a detected subject becomes a target for thumbnail sending. The period can be set between 0.1 and 6553.5.

Default Settings：1.0

Travel Distance until Thumbnail (%)
Set the distance a detected subject must move before it becomes eligible for thumbnail sending. Set the percentage (%) of the detection frame width between 1 and 65535.

Default Settings：50

Thumbnail Transmission Interval (Specified Area)
Sets the interval for sending thumbnails in the specified area. You can select the transmission interval from the options below.

Minimum Detection Size (pixel)
Enter the minimum number of pixels to detect. You can set a value from 0 up to the maximum number of pixels in the image width. A value of 0 means there is no limit.

[Set] Button
Click to save the currently displayed settings.

3.5Detect area and alarm notification settings

Configure the detection area and alarm notifications.

Open the “3. AI Motion Detection Settings” screen.

Set the detection area and mask area in the drawing area.

(3)

Set the AI Free Text Detection On/Off switch to On.

(4)

Check the detection conditions for which alarm notifications are triggered.

If you set AI Free Text Detection to “On,” it will function as follows:

- An alarm notification will be triggered if, within the specified area, the detection score for the detection criteria exceeds the “detection threshold” and remains above that threshold for a duration equal to or greater than the “duration” setting.
- This feature does not support cross line alarm notifications.
- This feature does not support displaying a red frame on the camera's live view.
