2.Preparation

The following outlines the work flow up to operation. This chapter describes ①, ② and ③.

2.1Check compatible models and software versions

Check the supported models and software versions at the following URL:

2.2Installing the product

Follow the steps below to download and install this product on your camera.

Access the download site for this product, download the [AI Free Text Detection Application], and save it on your computer.

Please access the URL below, download "AI Free Text Detection Application", and save it to your PC.
→Document database

Do not use spaces or double-byte characters in the name of the destination directory.

On the camera, select the [Setup] menu > [Ext. Software] page > [Software Mng.] tab.

Please check the camera's [Remaining ROM capacity] and [Remaining RAM capacity]. If there is insufficient capacity, uninstall any other installed extension software. For instructions on how to uninstall, please refer to the operation and settings section of the camera's instruction manual.

Click the [Select File] button and select the [AI Free Text Detection Application] you downloaded.

Make sure "Install new Ext. software." is selected and click the "Execute" button.

The software installation will begin. When installation is complete, "AI Free Text Detection" will be added to the list of extension software and the "Software mng." screen.

・Do not turn off the camera during installation.

・Do not perform any operation during installation until the installation is completed.

・If the installation fails, check the error in the message field.

・If the setting screen does not open properly immediately after installation, please restart the camera.

2.3Required application installation and configuration steps

To use the AI Free Text Detection application, you will need to prepare the following in advance.

Installing the AI-VMD/AI People Counting application.

Sets the mode selection for AI-VMD/AI People Counting application.

Set the camera image capture mode

If you have already installed the AI-VMD/AI People Counting application, please check the settings a and b.

2.3.1Installing the AI-VMD/AI People Counting application

Download the AI-VMD/AI People Counting application to your PC.

2.

Install the downloaded AI-VMD/AI People Counting application on your camera.

2.3.2Mode selection/image capture mode setting for AI-VMD/AI People Counting application

When you install the AI-VMD/AI People Counting application, the [AI-VMD/AI People Counting] menu will be added to the [Setup] menu > [Ext.software] page > [Software mng.] tab of the camera.
Click the [AI-VMD/AI People Counting] tab or the [Setup>>] button to go to the [Settings Screen].

Click "Setup>>" under AI-VMD and AI People Counting.

Select “1. Operation selection”

(3)

Select "Normal angle mode" for the mode selection.

Select a compatible image capture mode.

Select "AI Free Text Detection" for "Linked application".

Click "Set" to save the current settings.

- When using this product, you must select “Normal Angle Mode.” It cannot be used in “FishEye Mode.”
- If you're already using "AI-VMD and AI People Counting," click the "1. Operation Selection" tab on the settings screen to view your currently selected settings. You can also change them as needed.
- When "Image capture mode" is set to "Fisheye + ***" (e.g., Fisheye + Double Panorama), "Image rotation (Fisheye images)" must be set to 0°.
