Environmental Data Calculation Policy
The environmental data presented herein are calculated in accordance with the GHG Protocol.
Scope 1 and Scope 2 cover greenhouse gas emissions resulting from the Company’s business activities, while Scope 3 covers greenhouse gas emissions across the Company’s entire supply chain.
The calculation period is each fiscal year (from April to March of the following year).
Scope 2 emissions are calculated based on the market-based method.
Although emissions based on the location-based method are also calculated, this page discloses figures based on the market-based method.
Scope 3 emissions are calculated for the categories that are currently quantifiable among the 15 categories defined by the GHG Protocol.

- Methodology for Calculating CO2 Emissions
-
i-PRO calculates greenhouse gas emissions based on currently available data, focusing specifically on CO2.
Regarding greenhouse gases other than CO2, i-PRO will consider expanding the scope of our calculations based on the future availability of data.i-PRO’s CO2 emissions (Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3) are calculated by multiplying activity data for each activity by emission factors derived from emission intensity values published by government agencies and industry organizations, as well as by certain emission factors based on internal operational data. The emission factors referenced are sourced from publicly available materials published by the Ministry of the Environment of Japan, external databases such as those of the International Energy Agency (IEA), and other relevant sources. Scope 3 emissions include estimated values based on certain assumptions.
- Calculation Scope and Assumptions
-
- Scope 2 emissions are calculated using the market-based method.
- The breakdown of Scope 3 emissions by category includes only those categories that are currently quantifiable.
- Waste data are aggregated only for domestic and overseas manufacturing and development sites (Kaizuka, Fukuoka Factory, and Suzhou Factory).
- Recycling rate = recycled resource volume ÷ (recycled resource volume + final disposal volume)
- Definitions of Terms and Figures
-
- CO2-free electricity refers to electricity that is considered to have effectively zero CO2 emissions through the use of environmental attributes such as non-fossil certificates. It is not limited to renewable energy and is accounted for as part of total electricity consumption.
- Fuel includes gasoline, LPG, and other fuels used in business activities.
- Totals may not add up due to rounding.
- Certain calculation conditions have been revised starting from fiscal year 2023.
